General Information

History:  Lifestar was formed in 1995 providing Basic Life Support.  In 1998, Lifestar critical care transports became available.  The Medical Van services was created in 1999 and Lifestar increased its level of care to offer Advanced Life Support.   Also in 1999, Lifestar's response area expanded to Ozaukee County.  In 2001 Lifestar began serving Slinger as their emergency response ambulance.  Most recently, in March 2003, Lifestar became the first and only Paramedic services in Washington and Dodge counties.

Service Area:  Washington, Ozaukee, Dodge and surrounding counties.

Stations:  Centrally located in Slinger and West Bend to provide quick responses throughout the area.

Emergency Medical Care and Transportation:  Lifestar provides West Bend, Slinger and surrounding areas with Basic Life Support, Paramedic, and critical care transports.  Lifestar offers transport to the destination of your choice including:  healthcare facilities, assisted living centers and private residences.  We respond for medical emergencies, trauma situations, interfacility transfers and non-emergency transports.  Lifestar also provides scheduled wheelchair van service for Medical appointments and social events.

Long Distance Transfers:  Lifestar offers ambulance transport to all areas of Wisconsin and out of state locations.

Billing:  Lifestar accepts Medicare and Medicaid assignments and directly bills all insurance companies.

Staff:  19 Paramedics, 5 EMT-Intermediates, 16 EMT-Basics, 9 Registered Nurses, 13 Medical Van Drivers, 3 dispatchers, 2 mechanics and 4 support staff.

Equipment:  Lifestar utilizes six ambulances and seven medical vans and a paramedic supervisor vehicle.

Training:  Lifestar ambulance personnel are state and nationally licensed.  Each employee takes part in monthly training to fine tune existing techniques and develop new skills.  Lifestar participates in training with local fire departments, law enforcement and government agencies.

Community Involvement:  Lifestar strives to support the community that has supported us.  Lifestar provides medical support for local and county events.  In addition, Lifestar offers tours of our facility, gives presentations on emergency medical services and acts as a resource for high school and EMT students.
